Music of the Beatles Music in which John Lennon looks ‘psychologically destroyed’

Although not the only one the artist disapproved, Fab Four music is in Let It Be; Although he liked the lyrics, he rejected the final version

John Lennon is the author of some of the great rock classics, as “Help!” and “All You Need Is Love”. The musician was a very emblematic composer, to the point of having almost 30 of his songs at the top of the charts (via I have more records than friends).

However, there are some songs that did not please him so much. One of them is “Across the Universe”composed in 1968 and released on the album Let it be (1969), described by Lennon as “bad” (via Showbiz Cheat Sheet).

The musician did not completely despise her. Although I didn’t like the result, I admitted that the lyrics were good. In the book All We Are Saying: The Last Major Interview with John Lennon and Yoko Ono (2000), from David Sheffthe artist said:

“It was a terrible recording of a great song, and it disappointed me a lot. It was never released as part of the Beatles; I gave it to the UK Wildlife. Then when they called the Phil Spector to produce Let it behe found the track in the Beatles archives and added overdubs. ”

But why didn’t Lennon like the composition? The musician stated that his dislike was linked to his emotional state at the time:

“The guitars are challenged and I’m singing out of tune because I’m psychologically destroyed, and no one is supporting me or helping me with it, and the music has never been done right.”

In a way, John Lennon blamed his partner Paul McCartney Because some compositions were completed. The artist believed that his partner, sometimes tried to sabotage him:

“I think unconsciously, sometimes we – and I say ‘we’, although I think Paul did it more than the rest of us – Paul a kind of trying to destroy a big music in a subconscious way. He tried to destroy my songs unconsciously, in the sense that we played experimental games with incredible compositions like ‘Strawberry Fields’ “That I always thought it was poorly recorded.”

In addition to “Across the Universe” and “Strawberry Fields”Lennon was not a great enthusiast of “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds”. The musician revealed a certain resentment regarding McCartney as they made up together:

“Usually we spent hours taking care of the smallest detail of Paul’s songs; but when it was one of mine, especially if it was a great song like ‘Strawberry Fields’ or ‘Across the Universe’, somehow a climate of relaxation, chances and experimentation.
