Both American singer and English band have been active since the 1960s – and both come to Brazil to perform at Best of Blues and Rock
Brazil, more specifically the city of São Paulo, will receive two legendary rock attractions in the coming days. Composing the festival lineup Best of Blues and Rock, Alice Cooper and Deep Purple They present themselves, respectively, on June 14 and 15.
They are classic and veteran attractions of the musical style. Vincent Furnierthe man behind the character Alice, is 77 years old. Two members of Purple – The Vocalist Ian Gillan and the bassist Roger Glover – They are 79, while another duo of the same band – the drummer IAN PAICE and the keyboardist Don Airey – They blown 76 candles recently.
None of them slow down the pace of activities, whether on tour or studio. Purple released a new album last year, while Cooper releases a record in the coming days. The American singer performed almost 80 shows last year, while the English group took the stage 65 times in the same period. On average, one show every 4 or 5 days – amid long trips, including international.

What motivates advanced guys to continue with their careers? Both attractions answered this question In an interview with Rolling Stone Brasil. Alice, at first, said:
“If it was just for the money, we would have been retired for 30 years, because we made a lot of money. Artists and bands like the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and the like doing this because they were born for that. I was born to play Alice Cooper, so I will do it until I can get tired of playing the character, or music. Travel the world. ”

Ian Gillan, in turn, sees something very strong between his work and the public. The singer declares:
“It’s no coincidence that we have so many years on the road. I think it’s simply because there is absolute communion between public and band. There is an element of trust there. It’s not false. It’s real. Not hiding this with advertising, tricks or any kind of device. It’s genuine. I always believed it.”
That’s what they know how to do
Also participating in the chat, Ian Paice, the only member to participate in all deep Purple formations, made it clear: Rock and Roll is all this class knows how to do. After all, that’s what they worked for a lifetime.
“We started boys playing in pubs, or in the garage, because it was fun. To this day, take the stage and do all this makes us happy. Some nights are more problematic than others, but as a rule, you are doing something you like. There is no obligation to go to the office at 8:30 am on Monday. We are blessed for finding something in our lives that makes us happy.”

The same question highlighted by Gillan is pointed out by Paice: the public likes. The drummer concludes:
“And it seems that it also makes many other people happy. Everyone wins. One day, hopefully in the distant future, we will no longer be able to do that. So while we can do it and have fun, why would we stop?”
