Mariah Carey released a new single, “Type Dangerous”. The song marks the first unprecedented release of the singer pop in several years – her last album, Cassationcame out in 2018. The song apparently anticipates its next album. Check here.
In the lively song, Carey sings: “Looking for the Dangerous Type / I Like Them Dangerous / That’s My Type / I Said I Love Them Dangerous”.
(“Looking for their dangerous type / taste / this is my type / I said I love the dangerous”).
During the week, Mariah gave clues to social networks about the new musical phase, including excerpts from the Official Lyric Video of “Type Dangerous”. In one of the videos, she appears listening to a mysterious track called “T : D _MC16.MP3”, while the license plate displays MC16 – both probable references to her 16th studio album on her way.
Recently, Mariah Carey celebrated the 20th anniversary of her iconic album The Emancipation of Mimi with the launch of The Emancipation of Mimi (20th Anniversary Edition)plus an additional deluxe digital edition.
“When you sit and hear the The Emancipation of Mimi Like an entire album, and thinks, ‘Some of these songs pulled more to this side or that’, it’s really interesting, ” said Carey to Rolling Stone In 2024, while preparing to start his residence in Las Vegas. “I love this album so much that it’s hard to separate it and say, ‘Ah, I like this part less than that.’
The singer’s last studio album before the new single was Cassationits 15th album, released in 2018. At the time, the Rolling Stone described the album as “Emidantly current without losing Carey’s characteristic charm”.
