The story of Maria continues to gain striking chapters. The project Maria Esmeraldalaunched in 2024 by the Sweat, was consecrated last Tuesday (10) as Revelation artist for the APCA (Paulista Association of Art Critics). Created by the quintet Thalin, Cloves, Vcr slim, ILoveyoulangelo and Pyrlothe album completes a year in June with the critical seal and an increasingly firm place in the contemporary scenario of Brazilian music.
Mixing boom Bap, MPB and an immersive narrative, Maria Esmeralda It has been conquering admirers wherever it goes, whether on platforms or live. The presentation in C6 Fest 2025, in São Paulo, was one of the key moments of this trajectory. With the participation of Zudizilla in the track “Golden Boca” and a trio of strings on stage.
To celebrate the album’s first anniversary, the group released the track music video “Sports”which brings Donceson as guest. The project also has weight participation as Marília Medal (in the introduction), RUBY, Servant, Tchelo Rodrigues, Quiriku and yung veganall composing the emotional and political tapestry that crosses the 38 minutes of the album.
The next live meeting already has date: June 26, in Thinking world (SP), with free admission until 22h. The promise is another night that reaffirms what the APCA has already recognized – Maria Esmeralda It is one of the most singular and powerful projects of the new generation.
