The daughter of the king of pop defends himself and questioned the judgments on his agenda
Paris Jackson, daughter of Michael Jackson, did not leave the negative comments he received after confirming his participation as an opening attraction in the concert of the Band Incubus, scheduled for June 25 which marks the 16th anniversary of his father’s death.
In a series of videos published on the stories of his Instagram, the 27 -year -old singer and actress contracted the wave of criticisms hard, who considered unjust and uninformed.
The presentation should take place in Nashville, the Tennessee, at the Bridgestone Arena, and is part of the American Incubus Tour with Manchester Orchestra.
Paris is the first artist to go on stage on the nights of the event and, according to herself, has no control on the dates or on the places it performs.
Paris was categorical in explaining the context of the agenda. “When you are the first of three on a tour, you have no voice on when, where or as you present you,” he said firmly.
“People forget that they are not the main attraction. It is not me that you go through these dates. It’s not a personal choice.”
He also took the opportunity to criticize what he called the unreal expectation of his behavior in the face of his father’s loss. “Why should I make a scandal about it? I will call the incubus and say:
“Sorry, but I can’t play that day because it’s a sensitive appointment for me”? This is simply out of reality. They are giving me an opportunity and I’m grateful to it. “
Commenting on the tour structure, Paris shared the details that show the less glamorous side of the road. He said he has already traveled in vans, without a band, and that this time he will make travel accompanied only by the groom and the sound technician, Justin Long. According to her, simplicity is part of the process of maturity as an artist in the initial career.
Paris Jackson: pain, respect and autonomy to live his time
Paris criticism also transforms to the constant judgment that falls on the children of public figures, in particular as regards mourning.
“It’s a difficult day for me and my family, of course. But nobody has the right to tell me how to live or where I should be that day,” he added.
Since he started his career in music, Paris has tried to build his identity, far from the shadow of the surname Jackson. Although it was reverence for the memory of her father, it was clear in affirming that she wants to follow the authenticity of her steps, without emotional obligations imposed by third parties.
At the end of his outburst, the singer left a direct reflection in the air: “People require a performatic mourning. But what should import is not to respect the show around it”. And with this, Paris shows that even in the most symbolic days, his priority continues to live his truth with dignity and independence.
