After the viral success of Swiftie StepsWembley Park in London won the Lana Lanespace in honor of one of the big names in pop music: Lana Del Rey. The announcement was made last Monday, June 16, as part of the celebration of the singer’s two exhausted shows at the stadium, scheduled for early July.
The highlight of the new tourist spot is the mural Lust for Lifeinspired by the singer’s eponymous 2017 album. Painted on the side of Spanish Steps, the mural features a realistic portrait of Lana Del Reysitting in a turquoise pickup truck of the 1950s, a wave of the look American old-school and to the classic cars that often appear in their aesthetics. With 20 square meters, the work was created by British street artist HUMOR in collaboration with the urban art collective Murwalls.
“We are proud to return to Wembley Park, creating another mural in an emblematic place – this time to celebrate the only and incomparable Lana Del Rey” Marc SilverCEO and founder of Murwalls (via the line of best fit). “The work took three days to complete, using only spray paint, focusing on capturing the intricate details of Lana’s face and expression – something we hope for fans to really connect.“
HUMOR commented the responsibility of portraying the singer: “There is always pressure when creating portraits, but we are very pleased with the result and we can barely expect Lana and her fans to see.” Lana Del Rey reacted to the tribute on social networks with a simple but enthusiastic: “Wowwwww. Thank you guys.“Check it out:
