Artist who performed at the Best of Blues and Rock festival in São Paulo comments on the guitarist’s situation, who was absent between 2022 and 2023
Before performing a unique show in Brazil, as part of the Paulistano Festival Best of Blues and Rockon June 14, Alice Cooper talked to Igor Miranda, to the Rolling Stone Brazilon various subjects, among them the guitarist Nita Strauss. Is she back to the band definitively?
Between 2022 and 2023, Nita was absent from the group headed by Alice Cooper to tour with the singer Demi Lovato. However, in the words of the Shock Rock master, the guitarist gained only one “license” during this period.
Alice Cooper praised the talented 38 -year -old American guitarist and assured her that she is within the band definitively:
“She only took a year off, because she wanted to play with Demi for a year. We think it will always be a member. There will never be a time when she is not a member of the band.”
Then Cooper recalled that he could end up with other guitarists during Strauss’s absences. During the period she was with Lovato, the former member Kane Roberts returned. In recent times, another old member, Orianiit would replace it, but due to a health issue, Gilby Clarke (ex-Guns n ‘Roses) took over the vacancy.
“We kind of gave her a one -year license and we used different guitarists, but she was always in the band. And every night she stands out. Everyone stands out, but she’s a separate show.”
The guitarist’s name was still quoted amid praise to the singer’s band. He said:
“I think I have the best band of all on the road. I have Nita Strauss, the ‘Hurricane Nita’, winner of the guitar guitar award from Guitar World magazine. Glen Sobelwhich won the award for best rock drummer [Drummies Award na categoria Hard Rock em 2016]. The band is full of amazing musicians. “

The partnership between Alice Cooper and Nita Strauss began in 2014, with the guitarist joining the band that accompanies the singer on tour. In 2023, however, she was also with him in the studio for the album recordings Roadthe last of Cooper so far.
