Music when they confused Raul Seixas with his own impostor – and arrested him

In 1982, Raul Seixas He lived one of the most unusual and extravagant episodes of his career. The crazy beauty was not only confused with an impostor of himself but was also arrested and caught the delegate in jail.

All this happened in Caieiras, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo. Raul had a show scheduled in the city and has arrived considerably drunk. Unable to play properly and forget the lyrics, he was confused by the public with a supposed double.

The tension increased. Fans shot objects in the Bahian singer and songwriter – some even wanted to lynch Raul, as reported in a period interview TV Globo (via Raul Seixas Channel):

“They started tacking things in me, bottles, beer cans, and I started to get nervous. I think it was a rumor, which said it wasn’t me singing.”

The police were called. However, instead of protecting Raul, the authorities decided to take him in prison.

He says that in jail was even more assaulted, including the delegate:

“I was waiting for the delegate to arrive. He arrived soon beating me. He looked at my face and said, ‘It’s not him, no.’ He pulled my beard to see if it was true. He took my glasses and started hitting me. He hit the eye and an elbow here (in the arm).”

Raul Seixas wife confirms

The report is endorsed by Angela Affonso Costabetter known as Kika Seixasat the time Raul’s wife. According to her, her husband drank a lot at that time, did not walk with documents and was bad in the hands of the police, who kept testing him to confirm his identity.

Kika told, also TV Globo:

“Raul was taken by the police and was imprisoned in Caieiras. He was mistreated. The delegate came doubling that he was Raul Seixas and began to test Raul’s identity. Chacurous had been born. Imagine if he would know that. “

What happened after being released

After being released, Raul promised to call justice to seek reparation for moral damages. Kika, however, guarantees that the crazy beauty never received any compensation – and died in 1989, without ever seeing the color of the fateful show in Caieiras.
