Two years after a crisis on stage, singer returns to the festival with new single and receives moving support on the networks: ‘This is strength and overcoming’
Lewis Capaldireturned to the stage of Glastonbury This Friday (27), and took with him not only a new single but also an avalanche of emotion. Two years after interrupting his presentation at the festival due to the symptoms of Tourette syndrome, the Scottish singer returned to the same stage of Pyramid Stage to face an unfinished chapter of your trajectory.
Accompanied by a visibly moved audience and a crowd accompanying via streaming, Capaldi presented “Survive”his first unpublished song since 2023. The mood was of redemption: for him, for fans, and for everyone who followed the difficult moment that marked his sudden departure from the festival in 2023.
On social networks, the impact was immediate. A video comparing the two moments (the crisis two years ago and today’s safe performance) viralized shortly after the show. In a simple post, he wrote, “Glastonbury, it’s amazing to be back. Thanks for receiving me.”
The public’s response was intense. “This is strength, resilience and perseverance in flesh and bone,” wrote a user in X/Twitter. “Two years ago I saw him be overthrown by Tourette. Now he comes back after resting and healing. An inspiration for those who face any battle.” Others were more direct: “This guy has always been a fucking legend.”
This is Strength, Resilience, and Perseverance Personified.

The return of Capaldi It was already being speculated with lanes scattered on billboards by Glasgow (his hometown) and near the city of Glastonbury. The set, although short, was striking. He played seven songs, including “Before You Go”, “Forget Me” it is clear, “Someone you love”the same song he barely managed to finish last time, and has now been sang safely and emotion.
At a festival full of surprises – such as the secret presentation of the Lordfrom the legendary Pulp and a special participation of Peter Capaldi at the show Franz Ferdinand – It was the return of Lewis Capaldi which stole the scene with a simple but powerful reminder: it is possible to come back stronger after falling.
