In the book Ney Matogrosso – The Biography (2021), the author Julio Maria It describes how the singer and songwriter former Secos & Wet reacted when discovering the partner’s illness.
According to the work, both were no longer living together in Rio de Janeirobut they already suspected that they could have the HIV virus. Ney’s result was negative, while Marco de Maria confirmed that he had AIDS.
An excerpt from the book (via Metropolis) reports how Ney’s reaction was:
“Ney decided to take care of his boyfriend full time and closely. He spoke to Marco’s family, took him out of the (street) Carlos Góis and took him to live together at his home, on Cupertino Durão Street, where there were fewer stairs and a private ward could be assembled.”
And so it went to Marco’s death.
