Joe Trohman took a break from Fall Out Boy for the last time in 2023 to focus on his mental health. At the time, in the networks, he said:

“Without revealing all the details, I must report that my mental health has quickly deteriorated in recent years. So, to avoid disappearing and never back, I will take a break at work, which unfortunately includes getting away from Fall Out Boy for a while.”
