Musician who was part of the band in the 1990s thanked the public’s affection, but assured that he does not see a rapprochement
With the news that Matt Cameron It is out of Pearl Jammany fans started to speculate: who will be the new drummer? This information should not be released soon, as the band has recently created the album tour Dark Matter (2024) and has only one show scheduled for the rest of 2025 – can even perform with some substitute.
A name quite quoted by the public is that of Dave Abbruzseosemusician who was part of the group between 1991 and 1994. In addition to performing the debut album tour Ten (1991), he participated in the album recordings Vs. (1993) and Vitalogy (1994), besides playing the acoustic show recorded for the painting MTV UNPLUGGED.
However, the 57 -year -old instrumentalist manifested as soon as the rumors were started. Through social networks (via Igor Miranda site), Abbruzzese wrote a long text explaining that there is no chance of him coming back, as his relationship with former colleagues has basically existed over the last few decades.
In an excerpt, he states:
“My Facebook and Instagram pages were bombarded with thousands of posts, messages and emails, asking me to call Pearl Jam and try to reconciliation. To make it clear, I have nothing to reconcile with them. My departure from the band and the problems that came later, caused by the band management actions and the old label, were not entirely because of me.”
Dave Abbruzzese does not keep Pearl Jam’s resentments
Dave guarantees not to store resentment and even declares that he would accept to play with his former colleagues if he received an invitation. However, he sees the situation as unlikely. Another fragment of the text reflects:
“Apart from some comments and small attitudes that I never understood or waited, I never put my fault nor kept resentment against the band members. […] Although I never understood what was so important to destroy the musical chemistry we had at that time, I can’t do anything about it, at least nothing I can imagine. ”
Finally, the American asked fans not to send more messages by requesting a “reconciliation.” And finished:
“These years since 1995 have helped me grow as a person and musician. It seems that the band’s guys have matured and grew as much as I have, but the fact that I had no personal contact with any of them makes me believe that the distance between us is too big to have any reconnection or reconciliation. This is a pity and saddens me.
