The classic Black Sabbath song that nobody dared to play in The Farewell

Various guests played the songs and solo career of Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne, but a composition of the classic metal group remained intact

Villa Park Stadium, in the English city of Birmingham, received the farewell shows on Saturday 5 Sabbath Black and from Ozzy Osbourne soil. Were the final attractions of a megaphostic called at the beginning, with the presentations still Metallica, Guns n ‘Roses, Tool, Alice in Chains, Slayer, Pantheramong many others.

Practically all the attractions have played a song by Sabbath – in the Ozzy era – or the solo career singer as a tribute. From Heavy Metal lighthouse, guests performed by classics like “Do wear boots”, “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath”, “Children of the serious”, “Sweet Leaf” AND “Changes” even less known lanes, such as “Doom’s hand”, “Junior’s eyes”, “Johnny Blade” AND “Wicked World”.

Of course, the greatest successes were reserved for the Sabbath themselves to be performed: “War pigs”, “Nib”, “Iron Man” AND “Paranoid”. But there is a very acclaimed song that has not entered anyone’s repertoire, neither with the main attraction nor that was at the opening.

It is Sabbath BlackTrace that baptizes and opens the debut album of Black Sabbath, published in 1970. At the beginning, the band itself considered it to play it, together with “Do wear boots”But both songs were discarded because, according to the guitarist Tony IommiPhysical limitations of the drummer Bill Ward – Far from the tours since 2005 – it would prevent a good execution.

“Failies Wear Boots” ended up remembered by Alice in chains, but nobody risked performing the song that appoints the band and the album considered the Heavy Metal Marco Zero as we know it. In a sense, it is also a sign of respect, since other musicians seemed to know that they could not reproduce the dark and visceral tone of the original composition.
