Band performed the first two shows of the tour last weekend, but press coverage of the next performances is compromised
The press coverage of the meeting Oasis It may be compromised from the next dates. The tour Oasis Live ’25 Tour It started last weekend in Wales, but rules imposed on photographers motivated a boycott of them and their respective agencies and publishers.
According to the English newspaper The Guardian (via Igor Miranda website), the business of the band led by brothers Liam (voice) and Noel Gallagher (guitar) wishes to revoke the copyright about the photos produced in the presentations within a year. The time established was even the result of a negotiation, because the idea was to establish only one month.
In practice, what this means: photography agencies and communication vehicles can only use the images during the highlighted deadline. It is normal for this type of limitation not to exist and the press as a whole can use the material whenever you want, including future stories about the band or its members.
Given this, the News Media Coalition (NMC), an entity that represents communication vehicles and content agencies from the United Kingdom, chose to boycott the remaining 40 shows, both in the region and in other parts of the world – including Brazil, where the tour ends in November this year.
The NMC Executive Director, Andrew Mogerdeclared that there is interest of the agencies to carry out the coverage. Still, “Not having the freedom to publicize images in future news is an important factor in editorial planning”which justifies the decision made.
The Oasis meeting
In addition to Wales, the Oasis meeting tour travels places as England, Ireland, Canada, United States,Mexico, Japan and others.
In November, the Gallagher brothers land in South America. Node Brazilthey will play twice in São Pauloon 22/11 and 11/23, in Morumbis.
