Music is missing Chris Cornell every day, ‘admits Tom Morello

Rage Against guitarist The Machine worked with the late Soundgarden vocalist in audioslave times and is still impacted

The 61 -year -old guitarist gave a recent interview to the channel The Strombo Show (via Ultimate Guitar) And spoke of the longing you feel from your friend. Cornell was only 52 years old and took his own life after a long struggle against depression.

Tom Morello and Chris Cornell worked together at Audioslave after the end of their respective bands – Rage Against The Machine and Soundgarden – In the second half of the 1990s. The partnership yielded three albums between 2002 and 2006, including the acclaimed eponymous album of 2002.

In the interview, Morello commented:

“I miss Chris Cornell every day. Playing those audioslave songs and bringing their spirit to life on stage – this is very deeply significant to me.”

Morello says Chris Cornell was already facing difficulties with depression even at the beginning of Audioslavein 2001. According to him, however, the band did the singer good, enabling joys that made him move on at the time.

“I believe the luck of all of us known us earned him another 16 years (until suicide in 2017). That band was liberating. It really looked like the horizon was completely open. And you know one thing? Being on stage with Chris Cornell by his side was very good.”

“There was something different with Chris. Significant part of his artistic genius was intertwined with these demons that had been there since his childhood. I could feel it in his songs and lyrics, as well as his life. There were parts there I had never accessed.”
