Singer talks about how he preferred to conduct his career and criticism for being a punk son of two traditional politicians, Eduardo and Marta Suplicy
About to turn 60, Supla It follows active and, as he describes himself, “running and making his way.” Even if it means giving up opportunities that could yield more visibility – and certainly a flood of criticism.
To celebrate the new age, the Paulistano singer, son of traditional politicians São Paulo – Eduardo and Marta Suplicy – gave an interview to Gabriel Zorzetto for the Estadão and approached several career topics. Among them, the questioning about coming from a wealthy family, art -oriented public policies, such as Rouanet Lawand the form that suits you best to conduct your trajectory.
About the Rouanet Law, Specifically, Supla stated that he had never used it for not feeling comfortable. The musician also revealed that he has already refused shows of shows, including outside Brazil, not to be accused of benefiting from his parents’ political connections.
SUPLA explains:
“The guys talk about Rouanet law (laughs), but I never used … my mother was Minister of Culture, Minister of Tourism. Once invited me to do some shows out of Brazil during 2014 World CupBut I didn’t accept it to prevent them from saying anything.
According to him, jokes and jokes about his career and political binding are common. There is discomfort with that, but the artist does not affect himself.
“It bothers you, but I’m thinking more about the big look than in these blah blah-blah. You’re cursing me? Go there, do it better and don’t fill my bag. Shut up and do your job. This left and right thing is a sadness.”

Eduardo Suplicy experienced similar questioning
Supla says that just as the father faced resistance to come from a rich family (Matarazzo) and help to found the Workers Party (PT)It is also often questioned in punk, but these contradictions are part of a larger context, where personal choices are above politics.
He reflects on:
“My father has always suffered a great prejudice. Sometimes even from the left. They said, ‘How can a Matarazzo be founding the Workers’ Party? You’re crazy, you are a traitor!’. But that’s above the politician. It’s the human thing, to get sensitized to people who had no opportunity. Or you can shit, just think of making money. my way. “
