NGO Defender of Animals published affectionate farewell message to the Prince of Darkness and emphasizes his “Gentle Side” with the animals
Among the countless honors made to Ozzy Osbourne After his death on Tuesday, 22, is an unusual: PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), a non -governmental organization defender of animal rights. The singer of Black Sabbathalways remembered for beheading – misleadingly – a bat during a solo show in 1982, gained the recognition and affection of the entity.
Through InstagramPeta stressed the “kind side he demonstrated with the animals.” There is no mention of the episode of the bat at the bat.
The organization specifically highlighted that the Prince of Darkness denounced cat mutilations because of the removal of feline claws. The text states:

“Icon and provocative, Ozzy will be remembered not only for his music, but also for the compassion he has shown by animals, more recently for cats, using his fame to denounce the painful and disabling mutilations by claw removal.”
The NGO Defender of Animals concluded:
“Ozzy may have been the center of attention, but his wife Sharon and his daughter Kelly were in perfect tune with him in defending the animals. We’ll miss him so much.”

Ozzy Osbourne and the Bat
During a show in Des Moinesin IonOn January 20, 1982, Ozzy took a bat thrown to the stage by a fan and ripped his head from the animal with his teeth. He later said he believed it was a rubber bat and was surprised by the blood that left the bat. The metal star had to undergo a series of vaccines because of contact with the animal at the time.
