After more than a decade without unpublished, group celebrates 36 years with an ambitious project scheduled for 2025, bringing together Criolo, Seu Jorge, Djonga and More
You Rationals MC’s They are ready to mark another powerful chapter in the history of national rap. Ten years after the last studio album, the group announced a new project, scheduled to arrive in 2025, with 36 unreleased tracks, one for each year of existence of the collective formed by Mano Brown, Kl jay, Ice Blue and Edi Rock.
The information was revealed by Ice Blue During a live transmitted directly from the studio Quadin New York, where the album is being finalized. “It’s the new way of making music. You’re a part, you call a friend, everyone gets into the game. We want to do things in the present way,” the rapper said about the creative process, marked by multiple collaborations and a more expansive proposal.
Partnerships that cross generations and styles
The new album will feature participation by artists from different aspects of Brazilian music. Among the confirmed names are Cryle, Seu Jorge, Ed Motta, Djong, L7nnon, Hariel, MC IG, Kayblack, Kyan, Rincon Sapiência, Rael, Kaxeta Neguinho, Yunk Vino, Godoy Big and Falcon.
In an interview prior to Rolling Stone Brazil, Edi Rock reinforced the team’s dedication in the creation process:
We worked 24×48 on the disc. I go to the studio every Santo Day, crash card and work turning night to bring good quality, maintain fidelity to what Rational represent.
A new milestone in the trajectory of Racional
The producer DJ ciathe group’s longstanding collaborator, also confirmed the release to 2025 and shared backstage images alongside Ice Blue, Mano Brown and Crylesuggesting an even more intense level of visual involvement, with at least four recorded music videos.
Remember that the group’s last album, Colors & Valuescame out in 2014. Since then, the members have been active in individual projects, tours and the documentary From the streets of São Paulo to the Worldlaunched in 2022 by Netflix. In addition, in 2023, the Rational received the title of Doctor Honoris Cause UNICAMP, unprecedented recognition of a rap group in Brazil.
