Music first band by Josh Freese since his resignation from Foo Fighters

Drummer returned to the group to which he had played in the 2000s; I work with Dave Grohl and company lasted about two years

Josh Freese stopped performing with the NINE INH NAILS in 2008, marking the end of a three -year season in the tour band led by Trent Reznor. He spent the next years on tour with Weezer, Paramore, Sublime with Rome and others.

In May this year, he was notoriously fired from the Foo Fighters. But he never forgot what it was like to be on stage with Nine Inch Nails – and is ready to relive that feeling.

In his first public statement since it was announced that he would meet with Nine Inch Nails in his next tour, Peel it backFreese stated:

“Nin was a band that made me get out of the stage every night thinking, ‘That was amazing. We rock!’ And it wasn’t just a feeling, it was a certainty. This level of intensity, pride and satisfaction after each show is something I rarely tried anywhere else.”

Josh Freese joined Foo Fighters in 2023 to fill the vacancy left by the deceased Taylor Hawkins. When the band dismissed him from his duties, they cited the decision to “pursue a different direction with his drummer.”

This week, it was revealed that Freese would be replaced by Ilan Rubinwho recently left the… Nine Inch Nails. Rubin’s passage through the band began in 2008 when he replaced Freese, but became more permanent in 2013.

In his statement, Josh added:

“Being back on the tour with Trent and the team-helping them do what they do for the best night after night-is something that makes me incredibly excited. Being part of this energy is amazing. If you have a chance to watch one of these shows in the next six weeks, I promise, they will be absolutely unforgettable. I hope to see you around.”

Nine Inch Nails will resume the tour Peel it back With Freese on August 6, when the US stage starts in Oakland, California. The excursion will end on September 19 in Los Angeles.
