In an interview with Rolling Stone Brasil, members explain reasons for stopping the band’s activities from 2026 indefinitely
The gap announced by Angra Still in 2024 it started last weekend, shortly after the final show of the 20 -year tour of the album Temple of Shadows (2004), held in São Paulo. The reason for the band’s indeterminate stoppage was explained by the guitarist Rafael Bittencourt and by the bassist Felipe Andreoli.
In an interview with Igor Miranda for the Rolling Stone Brazilthe two denied that the hiatus be motivated by any dissatisfaction of the members with the band. The justification revolves only around wear and tiredness with tours and appointments.
The break, according to Rafael Bittencourt, is for the wear and tear that comes from overwork does not cause major problems. The guitarist said the moment will be for the band to “reorganize internally”.
He explains:
“We are coming from a very strong race, amending one album on the other. One tour of the other. Sometimes two tours happening at the same time, as was the case with the acoustic tour, the album’s release, then the tour of the tour Temple of Shadows. So everyone was worn out. To the point that I sniff that this could generate problem. To end up undermining, with overwork. End up undermining, and people want to leave the band. “
Bittencourt said he realized that wear existed because of overwork. He still said he doesn’t care what people will think.
“I felt an air that wasn’t just mine, a certain discontent with wear. Not with Angra itself. I think it’s a good time. A break to reorganize internally and strengthen themselves. People will think whatever they want.”

Angra members agreed with a break
Felipe Andreoli said that the pause’s decision was from Rafael, but that all four members saw good aspects in it.
“It’s not a sad break, from a band that is in crisis and needs to stop because it is not going on. I think what gives us the possibility of taking this break is the good time we are.
The bassist went further and said that a break would have fallen well to bands that had problems. Felipe sees a healthy side of the hiatus of Angra.
“So many bands would have benefited from such a break and avoiding so many problems. People who went out. Sometimes people need some time. Time to do other things. Projects in other spheres. People projects, time for the family. What are you wanting to do.”

Demanding routine
Felipe also said that the routine with the Angra It has always been a lot of demand, without the possibility of having room for other projects to be played by the musicians.
“THE Angra We demand us and don’t let these other things happen. It is very difficult to reconcile Angra, Full Power, with other projects. So this break is a good break. A positive pause. I’m sure the return will be very good. It will improve what is already good. Make adjustments and make it cool. “
