Vin Diesel recorded all of his dialogue for Marvel’s I Am Groot shorts in a ridiculous amount of time.

The Guardians of the Galaxy the franchise is about to expand, as is the new show I’m groot will premiere this week. The short film anime series should deal Disney + subscription titles for fun and sweet adventures featuring the resident living tree of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The production will also see Vin Diesel return to once again lend his voice to the fan-favorite character. At this point, Diesel has done several recording sessions for Groot, having appeared as a character in several films over the years. But what he did for this project was perhaps the shortest, because he recorded all of his dialogue in a ridiculous time.

Before I’m grootAt launch, I had the pleasure of speaking with Kirsten Lepore, the show’s director, writer and EP. Lepore, an experienced animator who has worked extensively with short films, gave an insight into her work on the photorealistic series. Obviously, during the conference, I had to ask him what it was like to direct actor Groot. Lepore had nothing but praise for the MCU vet and she also confirmed how quickly her work on the project was completed:

We had an hour. Honestly, we recorded it all in an hour. So, and it was just a recording session. I mean, honestly, I didn’t even have to give [Vin Diesel] many indications. Really, he just walked in and did. as if he was watching [the shorts] for the first time, seeing them in a very crude form. She then she looked at one, then she walked over to the microphone and said, “Let’s go.” And she just went through it all. And usually just, yes, nail it the first time. We would like to go back and collect some things, but he is really good at what he does and he knows this character well. … It was a great record. We burst out laughing. We were having fun. It was amazing

So yeah, creatives wasted no time removing voiceover work. Dubbing is incredibly boring and can require the talent to stay in the booth for hours. (And if a star is the lead in a TV show or movie, the shoot is usually just part of the production.) It should be noted that in this case the actor says variations of the same three words, so things don’t. I’m too involved. However, I commend you for doing things so quickly.

Vin Diesel posted a post about a Groot recording session in February and, although we cannot say with absolute certainty, it is possible that it was that. Kristen Lepore said they had a great time and the video posted by Diesel suggested that she was having fun during the filming she mentioned. The Fast & Furious alum seems to have a fondness for his adorable alien, and is already excited about what he has in store for him next time he hits the big screen.

more than two years ago, Vin Diesel joked guardians of the galaxy vol. 3 and said the upcoming film will feature a new version of his character. He suggested that after he was a child and a teenager, the tree would become “Alpha Groot”. writer and director James Gunn responded to these claims. , admitting he “has no idea” what his colleague was referring to. Gunn said at the time that Diesel had not yet read the script, but the director confirmed that the tree would be a “different being” in his final trilogy.

This movie won’t hit theaters until next year, giving you plenty of time to watch the adventures of Baby Groot in his new eponymous series. It might not be long before Vin Diesel finished his job, but as the trailer and clips suggest, the actor got to work taking the little hero to some interesting places. And fans will surely appreciate the efforts of him and those of Kristen Lepore and company. when they finally enjoy the show.

I’m groot is coming to Disney + (opens in a new tab) Wednesday 10 August as part of TV program 2022 . They should form a good basis for Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas Special (debuting later this year) e guardians of the galaxy vol. 3.which will debut in theaters on May 5, 2023 as part of the Phase five MCU series .
