MusicBiff Byford removes prostate tumor and saxon cancels more shows

Vocalist had already caused a change in the agenda in recent months due to unspecified surgery – whose details have been discovered only now

THE Saxon It has been off the road since the beginning of last July. Still in June, the band announced that it would cancel much of their future schedule due to emergency surgery to which their singer, Biff Byfordwould be subjected.

Now the reason for the operation has been discovered. A publication on social networks reports that the singer had to remove “a small tumor” from his prostate. After the procedure, the artist will undergo chemotherapy sessions “for a short time”. Consequently, more presentations will be postponed, with a return scheduled for November only.

According to the joint text, “doctors said their prognosis is positive.” Already in video only of biff, transcribed by Blabberouth, he said:

“I was sick and, as you know, I already had heart problems, but this time it was not in my heart. I did a normal magnetic resonance imaging of my prostate before traveling to the United States, a few months ago, but found a shadow, a small tumor, which they didn’t know was there. That’s why I had to do a very fast operation on July 8th. […] Unfortunately, I need to do a short period of chemotherapy, which they call ‘cleaning’, in case there was something there they didn’t let go. ”

Saxon in Brazil

Saxon was in Brazil last May. At the time, he held presentations at the Paulista Festival Bangers Open Air, besides Belo Horizonte and Porto Alegre. Text published by the journalist Igor Miranda in Rolling Stone Brazil highlights:

“How long the Brazilian fan will still have a chance to see the Saxonactive for 50 years and with such energetic performance as usual? As this question lacks the answer, one should not waste the opportunity to see them live. However, based on what was accompanied during the Bangers Open Air, Biff Byford and the battery playing machine Nigel Glockerthe only seventies of formation have not given signs that they intend to stop – nor their three younger colleagues. Long life to the wronged heavy metal that, at least in Brazil, find some justice. ”
