Brent Hinds, former guitarist and singer of Mastodon, dies at 51


The musician was unable to resist the injuries of a motorcycle accident and died on Wednesday 20, less than six months after leaving the metal band

Our hearts are with the family, the friends and fans of Brent.

According to the Atlanta News website (via Igor Miranda website), Brent was hit by a BMW SUV. The car did not give a passage by taking care of a cross.

Brent Hinds and Mastodon

Brent Hinds was born on January 16, 1974, in Helena, Alabamaus United States. The guitarist and singer participated in the foundation of Mastodon In 2000 and remained with the band for 25 years.

During this period, he released eight studio albums, including contemporary metal classics, such as Leviathan (2004), Roppa the skye (2009) and The hunter (2011). The most recent work of the band is Silenced and gloomyissued in 2021.

In March of this year, however, the group informed Brent’s departure. In the shows, it has been replaced by Ben Eller. Read the official note issued at that moment:

Subsequently, Hinds criticized the former colleagues and indicated that he was fired by the band in a non -friendly exit as he imagined before. He said (via Igor Miranda website)

“My guitar sounds great (in a video on the net), but Troy (Sanders) and Pawn (apparently Brann Dilio) seem absolutely horrible. They are completely out of tone. It is embarrassing. They kicked me by the band for being able to be able, but who are singing.
