Brent Hinds, a former guitarist from Mastodon, dies at 51 in a motorcycle accident

Brent Hinds was one of the founders of Mastodon, created in the early 2000s together with Troy Sanders (bass), Bill Kellier (guitar) and Brann Dailo (drums). Over 25 years of trajectory, the band has consolidated as one of the main names of contemporary metal, with nine albums positioned in Billboard 200three of them in the top 10: The hunter (2011), Once again arrived in the sun (2014) e Sand Emperor (2017). In 2018, the group won the best Grammy metal performance.

Despite the recognition and the long partnership, in March 2025 the band announced the departure of Hinds, supporting a mutual decision. However, months later, the guitarist publicly declared that he would be expelled from training.

In addition to his work with Mastodon, Hinds has been recognized for the unique style of playing the guitar, mixing Heavy Metal influences with psychedelia and southern rock. The musician also participated in parallel projects during his career.
