Leader of Queens of the Stone Age compares the way the two British rock stars managed to say goodbye before died

For the leader of Queens of the Stone Age, Josh Hommeit is possible to draw a parallel between the deaths of Ozzy Osbourneat the end of last July, and David Bowiedeceased in January 2016.

According to the vocalist and guitarist, both Ozzy and Bowie had “poetic” deaths. The reason is that somehow they managed to say goodbye to their fans and family still in life.

In the case of Bowie, his “epitaph” was the album Blackstar (2016), released only two days before the star death of cancer, in New York. Ozzy, in turn, performed at the farewell show with the Black Sabbath in your hometown, Birminghamin Englandat the festival Back to the beginningperformed 17 days before his death.

Because of this, Josh Homme told the Radio x:

“I think his death (Ozzy) was poetic. I’m sorry for the family, because it’s a huge loss. But I also think they see poetry in it. You know, I think David Bowie’s death was another example of two poetic ways to break.”

Homme adds, revealing deep admiration for Ozzy and his personality:

“I mean, I could watch Ozzy do anything. Well, almost anything. But, you know, if he was squeezing orange juice, I would say, ‘We should watch it. Something beyond the juice is coming,’ you just think he was a classic.”

The leader of Qotsa concludes:

“I think it was such a poetic ending for a career you just can’t take your eyes and ears.”

Ozzy died of a heart attack at home in England. He was 76 years old suffered from coronary artery disease and Parkinson.
