In 1992, divergences reached even higher levels. Nirvana was invited to the tour that gathered Metallic and Guns N ‘Roses – a desire for Axl Rose – but Kurt Cobain refused to fall on the road with Axl and company, as the guitarist said Kirk Hammettfrom the group that was in the middle of the confusion, to NME:
“I called Kurt trying to convince him. He replied that he didn’t like what Guns N ‘Roses represented. I asked him not to call it, just go there like Nirvana and do his part.”
Nothing done. Kurt upheld his decision and refused the invitation. Without the Nirvana on board, the Faith no More It got the vacancy.
VMA Confusion
In the same year, Kurt Cobain and Axl Rose were strange in MTV Video Music Awards (VMA). Friend of both, Kirk was again involved. Witnessed the bullshit and said, more recently, in an interview with Revolver Magazine:

But the bullshit didn’t stop there. Kirk completes:
“In another moment, I was there, taking care of my life, and Axl appears again and asks, ‘What’s up with your friend’s ap*?’. I said, ‘I don’t know, man, you need to solve.’ Then he: ‘Yeah, I’ll solve this p*rra with him.’ usual, but I ended up in the middle of everything. “
