Rapper Paulistano debut bilingual rap with music video recorded in artistic occupation of the east and explores Latin identity
The range mixes RAP sounds with bilingual rhymes, resulting from the artist’s experience in Venezuela during adolescence. “This new track is very special because it carries the strength of the union of our Latin American roots. The music video, directed by Enio Caesarpresents symbolic elements of Latin American cultures. The production was recorded at CDC Vento Leste, artistic occupation linked to the rapper’s personal history, with his father’s participation. A table appears as a symbol of meeting between the peoples of the continent, while the verse “alliance among the brothers we fall much greater” summarizes the proposal of union.
The cover of the single simulates a fictitious document of “Unión Latino America”, representing a collective identity that transcends borders. “This fictional document is born with the intention of showing that, even with borders, we recognize ourselves as part of the same story,” comments the artist.
Yago Oppio He was born in the East Zone of São Paulo and grew in the artistic environment of the Collective Dolores Boca Open Mechatronic Arts, founded by his father. His sound unites MPB references with Latin influences, due to his experience in Venezuela, in his adolescence. Started in rap influenced by Cryle, Sabotage and Rationals MC’s. The nickname “Overwhelming“It emerged in the freestyle movement in São José dos Campos.
