Guitarist even participated in a rewriting with the group, pointing music released in 2013 as one of the best in history
Many bands were compared to Queen over the decades. However, only one of them gained such a clear endorsement of the guitarist and main spokesman for the legacy, Brian May.
This is The Strutsgroup also graduated in England who has been active since 2012. May liked the work of the quartet, led by the singer Luke Spillerwho recently participated in the rewriting of their biggest hit: “COULD HAVE BEEN ME”originally released as a single in 2013 and made available on the album Everybody Wants (2014).

In an interview with Classic Rock, Brian did not save on the compliments to the pupils, who were in Brazil only once, in 2019. He said:
“I wish I had listened to this song when I was a child. It’s a classic. It’s one of the best rock songs of all time. It was more heard in the United States than in the United Kingdom – it went unnoticed here, and should not have passed. I hope this is an opportunity for this song to really connect the whole world. The lyrics are very inspiring, I love the feeling it conveys.
Brian May and the comparison with the queen
May described The Struts as “an amazing band” and still risked comparisons with Queen. For the guitarist, the connection between the young artists and their own group is in Luke Spiller – to the point of understanding that colleagues “newcomers” carry the torch of their work.
“When working with Luke, I always think of Freddie [Mercury, vocalista falecido em 1991]. There are many similarities. Both have this unwavering belief. They have amazing voices, they are great composers, but they have that extra ingredient of: ‘I’ll do that, I’ll let the world come to me’. That’s what Freddie had, and that’s what I see in Luke. ”
THE STRUTS PARTNERSHIPS
In addition to Brian May, The Struts has already collaborated with Robbie Williams, Ke $ ha, Tom Morello, DEF Leppard, Paris Jacksonbetween others. Furthermore, “COULD HAVE BEEN ME” was rewritten in 2021 by Halsey For the movie’s soundtrack Sing 2.
