Critical acclaimed since its debut in 2010, fires have been nominated for the Oscar for best international film and consolidated Villeneuve as one of the most important names of its generation. What is it about?
Based on the homonymous play of the playwright Wajdi Mouawadthe Franco-Canadian drama accompanies Nawal (Lubna Azabal), a woman from the Middle East who, when she died in Montreal, leaves her children two letters: one for their father, whose identity was unknown, and another for a hitherto hidden brother. The mission of delivering these messages leads Jeanne and Simon to a journey to the Middle East, revealing family secrets and the weight of a inheritance marked by war and silence.
When will the film be relaunched in Brazilian theaters?
The relaunch is scheduled for October 16, with the distribution of Imovision.
