Foo Fighters surpassed country band and broke impressive record among American artists
Foo Fighters broke record in Grammy last Sunday night, 3. The group led by Dave Grohl became the North American band with the most wins at the awards after winning the three statuettes they competed for.
With wins for Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Song and Best Rock Album, Foo Fighters has 15 Grammys in total. So overcame Union Stationcountry band, with 14 awards. The Chickswith 13, and Pat Metheny Group10, come close behind (via Showbiz CheatSheet).
Irish U2 holds the record among bands from all countries. led by Bonothe group won 22 Grammys.
Foo Fighters was one of the attractions of the night, but they canceled the show after the drummer’s death taylor hawkins on March 25th. “It is with great sadness that the Foo Fighters confirms cancellation of all upcoming tour dates due to staggering loss of our brother taylor hawkins. We regret and share the disappointment that we didn’t see each other as planned. Instead, let’s take this time to grieve, heal, bring our loved ones closer, and appreciate all the music and memories we’ve made together. With love, Foo Fighters,” wrote the band in a statement.
