Event in a historic house in Belém will have live broadcast, shows and the traditional ‘Lunch of the Matriarchs’, with the presence of several artists
This weekend, October 11th and 12th, as Belém is taken by faith in the Círio de Nazaréthe Psica festival promotes the Psychia of Nazaretha special event that will narrate the largest religious manifestation in Brazil from the perspective of peripheral voices from the Amazon. With an intense program that will be broadcast live on YouTube, the project will feature the presence of personalities such as Karol Conká, Linn da Quebrada, Amaury Lorenzo and Leona Vingativa to debate culture, faith and social transformation.
The meeting point will be Casa Dourada, a historic mansion in the Old City, located in the heart of the pilgrimage route. The space will host a diverse cultural program, with pocket shows by artists such as Felix Robatto and the queer group Mururé Flowerin addition to detailed coverage of the main processions, such as the Círio Fluvial and the Trasladação, from a black, indigenous, riverside and LGBTQIA+ perspective.
One of the most anticipated moments of the event is the traditional Matriarchs’ Lunchan Amazonian feast that celebrates ancestry and affection. The menu will be written by cooks who are symbols of Pará culture, such as Dona Lourdes85 years old, responsible for the famous Psica maniçoba; Dona Fláviawith its 35-year-old tacacá; and Dona Fafawith his duck in the tucupi, feeding the body and soul of those present.
Demonstrating its commitment to the community and the faithful, the festival will also promote the Varadouro Psicaa welcome tent for pilgrims. Located in Cidade Velha, the space will offer free water, massages and emergency care, functioning as a safe haven for devotees arriving from all parts of Brazil.
