The Prettos celebrate success in Europe and bring the “Quintal dos Prettos” to new cities in Brazil


The tour through France reaffirms the importance of the duo in contemporary samba and the project grows and consolidates itself as one of the largest clubs in the country

Returning to Brazil after a highly successful tour in Europe, the brothers Magnus Sousa AND Maurilio de Oliveiraof the Prettos duo, reaffirm their position as one of the most relevant voices of contemporary samba.

In September they were more exciting 1,500 people node 34th Biarritz Amérique Latine Festival, In Francewith the show A toast to maestro Cartola. The journey continued for Nantes AND Parisin presentation format samba club who brought the duo’s contagious energy to the European audience, translating their strength as artists and creators of projects that are already a reference in Brazil.

The Prettos’ prestige outside Brazil

The prestige acquired outside the country is a reflection of the work that transformed samba in Brazil too. Among these initiatives is the Quintal dos Pretoswho was born in Saint Paul and, over the course of seven years, it became one of the largest samba clubs in the country. Created by the brothers together with the cultural producer Margaret Valentinothe project brings together thousands of people in its monthly editions and has gained national relevance by saving the spirit of 80s samba wheels in acoustic formatpulsating and uninterrupted, in which the audience is the true protagonist.

In 2025 the event continues to expand its boundaries: return to Saint Vincent after a historic debut with sold out tickets, it lands in Campinas for the first time and arrives there again Saviorin the iconic Candyall Ghetto Squareconsolidating its national diffusion.

With a career marked by lasting collaborations and the ability to combine tradition and innovation, the duo demonstrates that samba is a living territory of encounter, resistance and collective celebration, whether on international stages, in large festivals or in the clubs that bear the name and essence of the Courtyard.
