Singer and bassist joined the group in 1966, replacing Clint Warwick
Giovanni Loggiamember of the rock group Moody bluesdied this Friday, 10 years old, at the age of 82.
The news was shared by the singer and bassist’s family on the group’s official Facebook page. The note does not reveal the cause of death.
“It is with the deepest sadness that we must announce that John Lodge, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law and brother, has been suddenly taken from us,” the statement read.

Justin Hawyard, the band’s lead singer, also greeted Lodge on Instagram. “I have so many memories of making music together. My sincere condolences to his beloved wife and family.”
John Lodge joined the Moody Blues in 1966, replacing founding bassist Clint Warwick. He participated in the band’s best-known works such as Days of Future Past, In Search of the Lost Child AND December.
In addition to his wife, he leaves behind two children, Emily and Kristian.
