Jamie Foxx explains why his controversial comedy All-Stars Weekend starring Robert Downey Jr. still hasn’t come out 6 years later

Did you know that Jamie Foxx and Jeremy Piven made a movie almost six years ago that involved the NBA, has a number of famous co-stars (including Robert Downey Jr., Eva Longoria, Gerard Butler and Benicio Del Toro) and probably pushes the boundaries of what is considered acceptable in the realm of comedy? You may not even be aware weekend of the stars unless you follow Foxx or one of the people who should have been in the movie. Filmed in 2016, the comedy premiered during the 2018 NBA All-Star Game and again in the following season. Only it remains archived and Foxx is now giving us an idea why.

Being an angry NBA fan myself, I was curious about Jamie Foxx. weekend of the stars, in which two best friends driving a truck (Foxx and Jeremy Piven) win tickets to attend the celebrity-studded title event, only to engage in various scams on the way to the match. During a recent interview on behalf of his new Netflix comedy Day shiftHowever, we asked Foxx when we might see All-Star Weekend footage or if the film will ever see the light of day. And the child driver the superstar told Gossipify:

Man, it was tough, with the comedy pitch layout, man. We try to open those sensitive corners where people laugh again. And that’s why I think, even in this film, the great thing is that the only thing we heard during the screenings was the number of people laughing. So I hope we’ll make them laugh and take them to All-Star Weekend, because we definitely would.

How does Jamie Foxx try to “open up” the sensitive corners he mentioned above? We don’t know for sure, because we haven’t seen weekend of the stars, and can only respond to previous reports or comments from Foxx, who is making his directorial debut with the film. For the most part, it looks like Jamie Foxx is back to his brightly colored days when I played general characters weekend of the stars. Like when Foxx appeared Youtube in the makeup chair to play Cleveland A. Smith, a parody of First Take host Stephen A. Smith, who was to be in the film:

But when he appeared as a guest on Joe Rogan’s experience In 2017, Jamie Foxx revealed that he convinced Robert Downey Jr. to play a Mexican character. In his explanation of him, he referred to Downey wearing blackface makeup Thunder in the tropics, a role that earned him an Oscar nomination. In the podcast, Foxx explained:

We all play different characters. I play a white racist cop. I’ll show you. I take it and show it to you. Robert Downey Jr. plays a Mexican. I called Robert and said, “Listen, I need you to play Mexican. He said, ‘Dude, here’s the deal. Sure. Fuck of course. Why not? Fuck of course. Sure. Mexican. It doesn’t matter.’

Will attempt a streaming service weekend of the stars, which also features actors playing fictionalized versions of LeBron James and Steph Curry? Perhaps Jaime Foxx speaking it during a conversation will rekindle interest in what feels like a wild moment in the movies.
