The awards initiative marks a new chapter in the strategy of expanding its global presence and recognizing productions outside of Hollywood

Brazil will gain prominence on the international entertainment circuit: Golden Globe announced a special celebration dedicated to Brazilian audiovisual production, scheduled for March 2026, in Rio de Janeiro. The initiative will be carried out in partnership with Urland Ventures, recognizing artists and cinema and television works that have projected the country on the global stage.

The history of the Golden Globes has always been about valuing international talent, and Brazil has offered the world some of the most extraordinary artistic voices and visions”, he stated Helen Hoehnepresident of the organization. “We are excited to celebrate these incredible Latin American artists.

The celebration is part of the Golden Globes’ strategy to expand its global presence, promoting events in international entertainment centers and highlighting local narratives.

The production of the event in Rio will be signed by Uri Singer, CEO of Passage Pictures, and businessman Orlando John. “We are grateful to be able to collaborate with the Golden Globe and turn the world’s eyes to the cultural and artistic force that Brazil represents,” said Singer.

In recent years, Brazilian cinema and television have been attracting attention at international awards. In 2025, the country won the Oscar for Best International Film with I’m Still Herefrom Walter Salles (Central Brazil), which also received nominations for Best Drama Film, Best Foreign Language Film and Best Actress in a Drama, a category won by Fernanda Torres (Foreign Land).

More details about the Brazilian celebration will be revealed in early 2026. Meanwhile, the 83rd edition of the Golden Globes will air on January 11. Nominations will be announced on December 8th.
