K-pop group returns in March 2026 after four years of break
One of the leaders of BTS, RMconfirmed that the group’s long-awaited new album will be released in March 2026. The revelation was made in an interview with the magazine W Koreain which the singer spoke about preparations for the band’s return.
“We are busy preparing for our comeback. We have photo shoots for the booklets, filming music videos, dance rehearsals… In fact, I have a rehearsal tomorrow too,” said the artist.
The project, still without an official title, will mark the end of the collective break that began in 2022, when the seven members paused group activities to fulfill mandatory military service in South Korea. Since then, each member has launched individual projects, exploring new sounds and consolidating the band’s global impact.
What BTS did during their break
Since the release of the collection Proof (2022)the group’s last major official project, the BTS remained active in solo careers. Jungkook released his debut album, golden (2023)and hits like “Seven” and “Standing Next to You”consolidating himself as one of the biggest pop artists in the world. Jimin launched Muse (2024)while Suga presented D-Day (2023)an introspective project under the alter ego August D.
V has been releasing singles and RM released his third album, Right Place, Wrong Person (2024)one of the Korean albums most praised by international critics. Already J-Hope and Jin focused on live performances and soundtracks before entering military service.
The new album represents the reunion of seven mature artists, each bringing different experiences and influences back to the collective dynamic. For fans, it is the beginning of a new era for the BTSone that promises to unite the refined aesthetics of the individual works with the explosive energy that transformed them into the biggest phenomenon in global pop music.
