Rock in Rio and elections: candidates are forbidden to go on the festival stages


The event will take place on 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10 and 11 September in Cidade do Rock

Since it was held for the first time in 37 years during the election period in Brazil, the Rock in Rio 2022 organization has issued a note setting the rules for the event. And “recommends that all companies, institutions and artists involved in the event are aware of the electoral law”.

The festival, which will take place from 2 to 11 September in Cidade do Rock, Rio de Janeiro, will not allow candidates for public office in these elections not to take the stage during performances.

For the first time in its 37 years, Rock in Rio will take place during an election period, which is why it is subject to specific laws in effect at that time.

Consequently, the organization has decided that the presence of any candidate in these elections will not be allowed on its stages.

And it recommends that all companies, institutions and artists involved in the event are aware of the Electoral Law.
