The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards return this Sunday, 28th, with some of the biggest names in music vying for the legendary Moon Person statue.





MTV Video Music Awards: what time is it and where to see the VMAs live

Lil Nas X, Jack Harlow and Kendrick Lamar are tied for best awards with seven nominations each. The collaboration of Harlow and Lil Nas X, Child of industry, boosted his performance in the Artist of the Year competition alongside Drake, Bad Bunny, Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles and Lizzo. Harlow is working twice as long, joining LL Cool J and Nicki Minaj as the show’s MC.

Behind it are Harry Styles and Doja Cat, who each received six nominations, while Ed Sheeran, Billie Eillish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Tayler Swift and The Weeknd each have five.

Where to watch the MTV VMA 2022

The MTV VMAs 2022 will be broadcast live, this Sunday, August 28, at 9 pm, on the closed channel MTV. It can be viewed for free on Pluto TV. The ceremony will be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Brazilian Anitta was nominated in the Best Latin Artist category, with success Involveand his show will be one of the highlights of the evening.

Nicki Minaj will also receive a coveted award, the Video Vanguard Award. The tribute bears the name of Michael Jackson.

Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bad Bunny will also feature Madonna, who is the most awarded artist in MTV history with 20 wins, becoming the only artist to receive a nomination to each of the VMAs in five decades. She got her 69th nomination for her 14th studio album lady xmaking history at the awards and becoming the only artist to be nominated in all its 5 decades, from 1980 to 2020.
