One of the most appreciated group by specialized critics, Dream Theater will perform in the last show of the evening; not just anyone can enter after Iron Maiden
Rock in Rio will open this Friday, 2, with metal. A session that will close with Dream Theater will see first, all on the Mundo stage, the bands Sepultura plus Orquestra SinfĂ´nica Brasileira (18:00), Gojira (20:10) and Iron Maiden (22:10). Despite the closing being with Dream, Iron must, once again, stage the great show of the night. It’s a rare role reversal, where the headliner comes before the co-headliner. One of the most respected bands in the segment, Theater will feature songs such as panic attack, Pull me under And The dance of eternity, among others. As usual with shorter festivals, few new things should appear, also because the album is really new, A view from the top of the worldthe release is scheduled for October.
It is worth remembering that even those who will not be at Rock in Rio for all the reasons that have become insurmountable filters – lack of money, lack of tickets, lack of accommodation – will be able to follow the broadcasts on TV. Globo has its own TV, streaming and cable channels open, with Globo, Multishow, Canal Bis and Globoplay. Among the selected presenters will be Marcos Mion, Didi Wagner and Jimmy London. They will appear in a glass studio in the middle of Rock City.
Today will be the famous “day of the black shirts”, or “the night of metal”. The traditional date began with the first Rock in Rio, in 1985, and has never ceased to exist. Not exactly new, but which metal fan is looking for it? What matters is seeing and reviewing the bands, like a record that runs non-stop. Heavy metal fans and their kinship sacralise their idols, even if they return every year. The sunset lineup will look like this:
9.15pm – Bullet For My Valentine
19:05 – Living Color + Steve Vai
16:55 – Fidelity to metal
15:30 – Black Panther + Devotees
