The Rio de Janeiro judge decided to freeze the assets of singer Naldo Benny for a debt of almost R $ 100,000 to a former employee of his band. Isaias Martins Soares accuses the artist of not respecting labor rights by firing him. Portal Terra accessed the decision on Tuesday the 13th.

Naldo lost the case in 2014, when the share value was still R $ 70,000. However, with the application of interest and the monetary correction, the value of the debt rose to R $ 96,683.36. The decision was issued by the 66th Labor Court of Rio de Janeiro on 31 August.

In the proceedings, the companies in the name of Naldo were summoned to deposit, in court, sums of copyright and related rights in favor of Isaias. In an interview with the portal news on tvthe singer’s former employee’s lawyer, Pedro José Neves, explained that Naldo attempted to retrieve the pens from his home in Jacarepagua, Rio de Janeiro.

Neves also pointed out that the singer stopped having cars in his name to avoid losing vehicles. “The process is in progress. An attempt was made to take possession of the door inside the residence, but the official informed that the assets that existed were for family use.”

“Car and bank account are in the name of a third party. [Naldo] he took away all the assets in his name, avoiding executions of any kind “, the lawyer explained to the portal. Also according to him the singer does not want an agreement and exonerates himself from responsibility.

“We were only able to pledge its copyrights, with Ecad (Central Office of Collection and Distribution and Digital Platforms. However, with the low yield of the songs, it was not successful in the media,” Neves pointed out.
