In an article, the rapper talks about his fight against chemical addiction in the 2000s and reveals that he doesn’t know how he is still alive
Eminem revealed details about the time he struggled with drug addiction in an article written for XXL magazine. In the text, you stated that you have had contact with ten traffickers at the same time and that “he does not know how he is still here”.
Reflecting on his career and life, the 49-year-old rapper said he suffered from depression before he even started growing up. “I was at my lowest point. I didn’t even know what I was going to do because it didn’t seem like it was going to happen. I was 24 and I had a kid to take care of and all I wanted to do was rap,” he wrote.
The high drug use, however, only grew as her career took off, especially after the album’s release The Slim Shady LPsince 1999.
“I didn’t use anything heavy until I got famous. I was experimenting. I hadn’t found a favorite drug,” he recalled. “I was able to do that for a while. Then it became ‘I like this shit too much and I don’t know how to stop.'”
The worst years of Eminem’s addiction were during the early 2000s, but according to him the problem reached its peak in 2006, after the death of his longtime friend rapper Proof. The musician says he was unable to walk for two days after the event.
“My drug use skyrocketed. I had ten drug dealers at once and I was getting my shit. 75 to 80 Valium [Diazepam] per night, which is a lot. I don’t know how I’m still here, “she said.
Eminem also suffered a near-fatal overdose in 2007, which caused him to begin the sobriety process. As he recently revealed on the podcast Paolo Podfrom your manager Paul Rosenberg, turned 14 sober in 2022.
