
South Korean group BLACKPINK has released a new clip, “Shut Down”, with their traditional colorful look, many costumes and sets, even more rap than usual and references to previous hits like “Boombayah”, “Whistle” and “Kill This” . Love “, mixed with the notes of” La Campanella “, a classic scholar of the Italian composer and violinist Niccolò Paganini.
This mix of modern and classic elements had already been used in the band’s previous clip, “Pink Venom”, which broke records and this Friday (16/9) surpassed 300 million views on YouTube.
The two songs are part of the quartet’s long-awaited second album, entitled “Born Pink”, which was also released this Friday and contains six other previously unreleased tracks. Even before its release, the album already had more than 1.5 million pre-orders.
Voted “World’s Greatest Girl Group” by US magazine “Time”, BLACKPINK recently won the Metaverse Best Performance Award at the 2022 VMAs.
The band formed by Lisa, Rosé, Jisoo and Jennie are preparing for a world tour that will begin in October to promote the album. They already have shows in Asia, Europe, Oceania and the United States, but there is no mention of South America yet.
