Rita Lee was honored in this edition of the Latin Grammy, in Las Vegas this Thursday (17). The rock singer received the Lifetime Achievement Awarda recognition of his body of work and career.
Aloysio Reis, businessman and adviser Latin Grammy🇧🇷 and the singer Julia B were chosen to pay homage. During the awards, the star’s trajectory was reviewed in images. Unfortunately Rita Lee was unable to attend due to medical advice, but he sent a message saying he was “happy to chuchu”.
The Latin Recording Academy, responsible for GrammyLatinexplained in a press release that the Musical Excellence Award is awarded to artists who have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic value to Latin music and its communities.

Before Rita Lee, O Latin Grammy had already granted Lifetime Achievement Award for other Brazilian artists like Roberto Carlos (2004), Jorge Ben Jor (2005), The Paralamas do Sucesso (2007), Beth Carvalho (2009), Gal Costa (2011), Milton Nascimento (2012), toquinho (2012), Ney Matogrosso (2014), djavan (2015), John Bosco (2017), Erasmo Carlos (2018) and martinho da vila (2021).

The tribute to Rita was the starting point for the new digital cover of Rolling Stone Brazila special that brings together a recent and exclusive rehearsal of the singer, performed by Guilherme Samorathe journalist, writer and artistic director of the show about Rita Lee’s 50-year career, a success in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
