DOM7NIC promises to be the new top name on the scene. Different from the traditional approach of rap, the artist is inspired by the romanticism of the dead Charlie Brown Jr convey his message, which speaks of love, faith and hope, strolling in the pop genre. Next Thursday (1/12), he releases his first album, titled The best of lifefrom the label ROC7in collaboration with the Virgin Music Brazilwhich is an arm of Universal Music Brasil. “Despite sing rap, i have a different style. I think I sing a style of music that nobody currently does. It’s something completely different and it’s a style of music that the market lacks. It’s something I see that is similar to what Charlie Brown did, with lyrics that have a message of love, something more romantic, different from what most are doing today. I’m very romantic, but because of that crazy side of life I’ve been living, I bring a bit of ‘malouqueira’ to my romance.”explains the artist.
Behind the production of the artist’s new project are big names, such as Herbert Medeiros and Raël Lucio. Mastering was performed by Latin Grammy winner, Maurice Gargel, and Big Rabello was the one who signed the mix. The recordings took place in the studio. At 33, DOM7NIC he is currently experiencing his best phase, after a troubled past, which led to compulsory hospitalization in adolescence due to drug use. At the age of 16, the rap singer he spent two years hospitalized fighting drug addiction, after the untimely loss of his father, who devastated him to such an extent that his life ended up turning upside down. But it was precisely in psychiatry that he ended up discovering his gift.
“I ended up involved in wrong things, crime… I was arrested in Belgium, I got involved with drugs… I had to leave society at the age of 16, because I was interned for two years in a psychiatry. When I got out of the hospital I had to take care of my mother and my sister, so I couldn’t devote myself to music because I had to work, study, because I was the man of the house, I had to develop this side of myself of being the breadwinner. When I turned 23, I started trying to reconcile the two. I was finally invited to join ROC7, last year, as a lead artist on the label, and now I will be releasing my first album”comments the songwriter.
In addition to the musical godson of Ed Rockfrom Racionais MC’s – one of the greatest rappers in the history of the scene -, DOM7NIC has songs recorded with the singer Li Nero and compositions with Creole🇧🇷 He also signed the music for the film/documentary of Corinthians and made the song to celebrate the same team’s title in the championships Brazilian And Paulistsince 2017.
The singer has already recorded a rap EP on Holland with musicians from the European country and already had his face imprinted on one of the brand’s blouses knight, brand of which he was an ambassador.
