Metallica have released the video for “Lux Æterna”, the first single taken from their new album, “72 Seasons”, the 12th studio effort of the veteran rock band.
Expected for April 2023, the release will be the first album with new material from the quartet since “Hardwired… to Self-Destruct” (2016).
The video for “Lux Æterna” is directed by Timothy Saccenti (from Depeche Mode clips) and features the musicians playing heavy rock on a well-lit turntable, as if it were a concert. It was filmed in Los Angeles with “pretty insane cutting-edge technology,” according to the rockers.
In addition to the album, Metallica announced a new tour also scheduled to start in April 2023. Initially, the shows will be limited to countries in Europe and North America and will extend until September 29, 2024. dates in Brazil .
