First trans artist to win a Latin Grammy🇧🇷 linker was the guest of Living Wheel last Monday, the 12th. And it was during the program, when answering a question about her trajectory in music and poetry, that the artist got emotional, remembering the beginning of her career as a singer.

Born in Araraquara, in São Paulo, linker released their first album, Goes backin September 2016. Five years later, still as an independent artist, the singer released her most recent work, the album Indigo Butterfly Indigo — the project even guaranteed the Brazilian company the Latin Grammy in Best Brazilian Popular Music Album in 2022, the first achieved by a trans woman.

During the Living Wheelthen, linker revisited the five years that separate both albums by answering a question Adriana Couto🇧🇷 On the occasion, the journalist of TV Cultura asked the singer to talk “about how your way of making poetry has accompanied you and accompanied your evolutions and your discoveries as a woman”. In response, linker was moved and generated a lot of commotion.

I am very moved by this question, because the first time I gave an interview it was for you. And being able to go back to this process after so much and be able to talk about my poetry under construction is very powerful. I feel very welcomed and I think that poetry and the word have been my greatest allies”, she said.

Then, linker he was moved when he remembered who he was during the composition of his first album. “I think, in Goes back, I was a person who had just arrived, and I was dreaming a lot. It was music that fed me, it was music that made me dream, it was music that made me resist.”

It’s very powerful to know that, even when we don’t have anything to eat, and without romanticizing it, the hope for something puts us in a place where, suddenly, I can look at my story and know that it’s over, and know that this today moves dreams in other people”, continued linker🇧🇷

“I think since the Goes back I’ve been looking for linker🇧🇷 Then it arrives at IndigoI write ‘Lili‘, still looking for that girl. There I dream ofLalange‘, saying that I’m looking for this child and I can’t find it, so I think that this search for myself is perhaps my role here on this Earth”, concluded the singer.
