Singer Black Gil was the first attraction of 2023 to perform at the Carioca stagemounted on the edge of the Copacabana beachto the Rio de Janeiro. Preta took to the stage around 00:12, right after the fireworks display, bringing all the cheer and relaxation of the black block.
This year, Black Gil will celebrate 20-year career and to commemorate the date there will be the return of the black block to Rio de Janeiro street carnivalafter two years without showing due to covid-19 pandemic. The singer has also promised to launch a commemorative album.
