Nicole Kidman on flying home to daughters after every shoot

Nicole Kidman says she flies straight home to daughters Sunday and Faith after every shoot, seven months after finalizing her divorce from Keith Urban.

Nicole Kidman says she makes a point of flying straight home to her teenage daughters the moment she finishes filming, no matter how demanding her schedule gets.

The 59-year-old actress opened up about her parenting priorities during a conversation with Extra alongside her Lioness co-star Zoe Saldana, 48. Saldana had described how the show’s cast bonded across multiple seasons, attending concerts, riding horses and celebrating Thanksgiving together. But she noted that Kidman was always the first to leave.

“Nicole would if she was there, but as soon as Nicole finishes, she flies home to her family. And it’s so beautiful to see, too,” Saldana said.

Kidman explained her thinking simply. “I go home to my family. I’ve got one child in junior year and one who’s a freshman. So, I was like, ‘Okay, I got to be there taking care,’ you know? Multitasking, right?”

Family first after divorce

Kidman shares daughters Sunday, 18, and Faith, 15, with country music star Keith Urban, 58. The couple separated in September 2025 after 19 years of marriage, and their divorce was finalized in January. Kidman retained primary residential custody. She also has two adult children, Bella, 33, and Connor, 31, with ex-husband Tom Cruise.

In May, Kidman marked her first Mother’s Day as a single mother by posting a throwback photo on Instagram of herself giving Sunday and Faith a piggyback ride. “To my beautiful girls, the greatest joy is being your mother,” she wrote.

Kidman told Harper’s Bazaar in October 2025 that her children give her the purpose of being their protector and their guide, and that she is committed to making sure there is always a safe place for them to grow up in.

Kitchen rituals and movie nights

The actress has described raising her teenagers as an extraordinary experience. According to People, the three talk about everything and rely on shared daily routines and movie-reciting moments to stay close. Kidman told the outlet that Bridesmaids is their go-to film when spirits are low, and that they watch it, recite it and act it out together in the kitchen.

Meanwhile, the daughters are beginning to step into the public eye on their own terms. Sunday made her runway debut at 16 during Paris Fashion Week in October 2024, walking for Miu Miu, and has continued to appear in major fashion events since. Faith has kept a lower profile but appeared alongside her mother in a luxury beauty campaign in June 2025.

New chapter

Away from parenting, Kidman was spotted earlier this week taking a ride in a Ferrari with financier Michael Reinstein in Los Angeles. The Beverly Hills-based businessman, who works in private equity, reportedly picked her up from the airport after she flew in on a private jet. The two were also seen together in Portofino, Italy, in photographs obtained by the Daily Mail. According to gossip site DeuxMoi, a source close to the pair said the relationship has been quietly developing for several months and the two have been keeping things low-key.

Kidman’s latest television project, Lioness, premieres its third season on Sunday on Paramount+.
