Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger has shared a weightlifting workout video on Instagram after her band cancelled the North American leg of their reunion tour.

The 48-year-old singer displayed her toned abs in tight blue sportswear as she showed off her weightlifting skills with a personal trainer before running on the treadmill.

Captioning her post "Built not born," Scherzinger wrote: "You won't always feel ready. You won't always feel strong but stay grounded, show up anyway. That's where real strength is built."

Nicole Scherzinger showed that it takes plenty of hard work to maintain her incredibly toned physique, as she hit the gym in a new Instagram post

Her workout post comes after her personal trainer, Paolo Mascitti, previously detailed the step-by-step plan she uses to maintain her figure, describing her as "extremely dedicated" in the gym.

Speaking to the Daily Mail in 2019, Mascitti praised Scherzinger's dedication and work ethic. "Nicole is extremely dedicated in the gym, she is so hardworking, which makes her such a pleasure to work with," Mascitti said. "Due to her background in dance, she needs both physical and mental stimulation in her workout routines. This means changing it quite frequently."

Mascitti stated that three months is a realistic timeframe to see real results and emphasized combining strength training with cardio routines. "I recommend performing a HIIT training session (High Intensity Interval Training) and adding weights, as you are able to build cardiovascular endurance and muscular endurance simultaneously," he explained.

He added that High Intensity Interval Training burns more calories in less time than most other cardio workouts. "Due to the higher intensity, your muscle shifts into excess, post exercise oxygen consumption, and during this period your body burns additional calories at a higher rate to repair your muscles," Mascitti said, noting that "this recovery keeps your metabolism boosted for hours after training."

Cancelled Tour Dates and Dismal Ticket Sales

The gym post follows major setbacks for Scherzinger's music group. The Pussycat Dolls announced their comeback in March alongside "Club Song," their first single in six years, which was produced and co-written by Mike Sabath.

Band members Ashley Roberts, Nicole Scherzinger, and Kimberly Wyatt had originally announced they would reunite as a trio for a massive 53-date tour across North America, the UK, and Europe. However, last month the group was forced to cancel the entire North American leg of their reunion tour due to dismal ticket sales.

However, last month they were forced to axe the entire US leg of their comeback tour due to dismal ticket sales

The decision scrapped 33 scheduled dates across the United States and Canada after poor sales left arenas 80 percent empty. Even after ticket prices were slashed to $30, organizers had no choice but to cancel the leg just one month before its planned first show in Palm Desert, California on June 5.

In an Instagram statement, the band explained the cancellation. "When we announced the PCD FOREVER Tour, we hoped to bring the show to fans across the world," the statement read. "After taking an honest look at the North American run, we've made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to cancel all but one of the North America dates."

The group confirmed that their European dates would move forward as planned. "Our UK and European dates are still moving forward as planned, and the response has been incredible, with several shows already sold out," they wrote. "We are putting everything into making this show a true celebration of the music and the memories, for the fans who have been with us from the beginning and those discovering us for the first time. We're working hard to create the kind of show we've always dreamed of bringing to you. We cannot wait to bring this reunion to Europe and make these nights unforgettable."

The trio will continue the European leg of their tour, kicking off in Copenhagen in September followed by shows in Paris, Warsaw, and the UK. Fans who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster or AXS were informed they will receive a full refund automatically, while those who bought from third-party resellers have been advised to contact their point of purchase.

Group Division and Member Reactions

The Pussycat Dolls reunion has been marred in controversy since it was first announced due to the exclusion of three founding members: Carmit Bachar, Jessica Sutta, and Melody Thornton. Both Bachar and Sutta revealed they were blindsided by the reunion and were never asked to take part, with Sutta going as far as to call it a "cash grab."

Asked by a fan if she was going to meet up with the rest of the Pussycat Dolls, Sutta replied: "No, I'm not. They have been planning it for a year and blatantly didn't ask Carmit and I." She added: "We are finding it all out the same time as you are. I was not contacted regarding the group's decision to move forward, and I learned of these plans at the same time as the public."

Bachar called the trio's move "disappointing on a personal level" but added that she remains "proud of the role I played in helping shape what The Pussycat Dolls became."

"My intention in sharing this is not to create division, but to honor the truth and the fans who have supported us throughout the years," Bachar continued. "Transparency and respect are values I hold deeply. At this time, I am choosing to focus on my wellbeing and to move forward with positivity and purpose."
