Audience and critical reception reached ratings of 8.1 on Kinopoisk and 8.2 on IMDb. Reviewers highlighted the chemistry between lead actors and the ensemble performance, though some critics noted uneven narrative pacing and felt explicit scenes did not fully capture the source material. Filming for the first season ran from June to October 2025 before its May 2026 debut, leading fans to expect the second season around May 2027.

The series follows an anthology structure similar to Bridgerton, with each season focusing on a distinct couple from Kennedy's novels. Producers chose to adapt the book titled The Score out of internal chronological order. A cliffhanger at the end of the first season involved Dean and his long-time hockey rival, alongside early romantic developments between Dean and Allie. Peter Friedlander, head of global television at Amazon MGM Studios, said the emotionally rich story resonated strongly with global viewers. Friedlander stated that the dedicated fanbase and rich material gave the studio confidence to greenlight the second season prior to the series premiere, and he expressed enthusiasm for Levy's continued adaptation.
